The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences announced the winners of the annual Webby Awards on Monday (April 28).
Taking top honors in the best use of interactive video category was Pharrell Williams for his 24-hour “Happy” music video. Meanwhile, Jay Z won the award for best music app with “Magna Carter Holy Grail.” Beyonce picked up an honor of her own, the People’s Voice Award in the celebrity fan category for Beyonce.com. Freddie Wong was honored with a Webby Special Achievement award for his series Video Game High and his partnership with Lionsgate, and mental_floss won the People’s Voice Award for best Cultural Blog.
The Webby Awards 2014 celebrates well-known big sites and also fantastic indie operations.
The awards ceremony will be held in New York on May 19th.
