Vera Jordanova Biography 1975-

On August 28, 1975, was born into a family of Bulgarian musicians, but she calls the Finnish capital of Helsinki home. She studied several languages at a high school that specialized in language instruction before a modeling scout spotted her and helped launch her career as a .

On the heels of her discovery, Vera appeared on several Finnish magazine covers, which led to more work outside Finland. Some of the high-profile international campaigns Vera went on to appear in include Felina Lingerie, Bacardi Lime and Clarins. Acclaimed photographer Gilles Bensimon — responsible for making such models as Christy Turlington, Claudia Schiffer and Cindy Crawford look so sensational — shot the Clarins photo shoot. Vera was also a main attraction in the 2006 Maxim Calendar and she had a feature pictorial in the Czech Republic’s June 2007 edition of Esquire magazine.

Vera’s acting career began shortly after she started modeling, with small parts in a handful of Finnish television series (such as Tahtitehdas and Isanmaan toivot) that went virtually unnoticed outside of her native Finland. She landed her big break at international stardom in 2007 with her first English-language role in Eli Roth’s horror flick Hostel: Part II. In the sequel, Vera portrays Axelle, a woman that entices tourists to Elite Hunting’s torture factory. She has also appeared in Rocco Deluca & the Burden’s “Colorful” music video.
