Some things just go together: peanut butter and jelly, bacon and eggs, Brazil and supermodels. The country that brought us Gisele Bundchen and Adriana Lima has now graced us with Solange Wilvert, one of the world’s fastest rising models. The beautiful Florianopolis native was first discovered in 2004 during a casting session at her public school. Despite being only 14 years old at the time, interest in the Brazilian beauty was intense and within four weeks she landed her first major contract in New York City.
Since then, Solange has appeared in major advertising campaigns for Chanel, Calvin Klein, Fendi, Gucci, Jill Stuart, Neiman Marcus, PennyBlack, Stella McCartney, and Vera Wang Jewelry. She has been in equally high demand on the catwalks, where she has modeled the ready-to-wear fashions of Alexander McQueen, Calvin Klein, Chanel, Perry Ellis, Dolce & Gabbana, Karl Lagerfeld, and Marc Jacobs, to name a few. Solange’s delicate visage has also appeared on the covers of Vogue and Stiletto.
Already a veteran of dozens of shows, Solange is able to see the industry for what it is. “The best part is the possibility to travel, to get to know people and places that you never imagined,” she says. “The worst is the pressed shoots and the change of makeup many times a day.”
