Born and raised in Maryland, Hilary Rhoda harbored dreams of working as a model since she was just a little girl even though she was also known as a bit of a tomboy in her youth. Adept at lacrosse and swimming, Hilary’s adolescence was about as normal as one could imagine. It wasn’t until she hit her teen years that she began to seriously pursue a career as a model. Following her graduation from high school, Hilary signed with the prestigious IMG Models agency (which is home to such well-knowns as Carolyn Murphy, Astrid Munoz and Caroline Winberg).
While visiting Paris for the spring/summer 2006 fashion collections, Hilary’s whirlwind modeling career took off when Balenciaga’s Nicholas Ghesquiere personally asked her to walk in one of his shows. From that moment, a string of high-end designers, such as Dior, Valentino and Rochas, were booking her left and right.
It wasn’t long before Hilary began appearing in ad campaigns for companies such as Dolce & Gabbana, Ralph Lauren and Gucci. She even began popping up on the cover of various fashion magazines (including the May 2007 issue of Vogue). Hilary was also named one of MODELS.com’s Top Ten New Faces in 2006, and she even landed the coveted spot as one of the new faces of Estée Lauder in 2007.
After being named the spokemodel behind brands like St. John Knits (she replaced Angelina Jolie) and Neiman Marcus, Hilary Rhoda was featured in Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue in February 2009, marking her first time in the sexy pub.
