Delilah Cotto Biography 1970-

An actress whose remarkable radiance and inspiring energy shines through equally on stage, film, or television, Delilah Cotto mesmerized audiences in her role as the mysterious Celestina Del Sol in the off-Broadway Cloud Tectonics. Eagle-eyed TV viewers will no doubt recognize Cotto from her appearances in such popular series’ as Oz and Law & Order, and her feature career gained momentum in such films as Lean on Me (1989), Girl 6 (1996), Personals (1999), and Empire (2002). Born to Puerto Rican parents and raised in New York City, the Spanish-fluent Cotto studied drama at the High School of Performing Arts. Receiving additional training at the William Esper Studio, the burgeoning talent also studied dance before taking a small role in the 1989 drama Lean on Me. Refining her talents in the seven years before her role in Girl 6, Cotto blossomed into a promising actress thanks to her uncanny ability to immerse herself in character and truly make any role her own.
