Last month, Wendy’s rolled out Dave’s Hot ‘N Juicy burger, a burger with a thick beef patty that took two years to develop. Now, as of October 24, Burger King is adding its own premium burger to the ring. The BK Chef’s Choice, is made with ground chuck, American cheese, thick cut bacon, Romaine lettuce, red onions and tomatoes.
The introduction of this new burger is one of several recent menu changes, including revamped desserts and the addition of oatmeal to the breakfast menu. Early reports expressed some confusion about what exactly made the burger a “chef’s choice” besides the ground chuck patty and bacon.
“The new BK Chef’s Choice burger provides a premium, made fresh-to-order sandwich which brings a whole new level of excitement to our menu,” Alex Macedo, Senior Vice President of North America marketing, said in a statement.
The burger is served on an “artisan-style bun” and has a suggested retail price of $4.99.
