Angie Ruiz Biography 1977-
Angie Ruiz was born and raised in California, where she received an education in various artistic endeavors from an early age. Through her musically inclined father and uncle, Angie rubbed shoulders with such notable names as Carlos Santana and the Doobie Brothers while she was still in her adolescence. Angie’s predilection for performing became obvious early on, which prompted her mother to enroll her in various theatrically themed classes. It wasn’t long before Angie’s hard work and dedication began to pay off: By the time she was 15 years old, the up-and-coming performer had booked her first television commercial.
In 2002, Angie made her big-screen debut opposite Josh Hartnett in 40 Days and 40 Nights, in a brief but smoldering sequence that E! Entertainment recently labeled as one of the 101 Sexiest Movie Scenes of All Time. She followed that up with a pair of independent films in 2003 and 2004 — Hades Night and In Your Eyes, respectively. In 2005, Angie landed a role opposite Richard Gere in the critically acclaimed Bee Season.
Much dearer to Angie’s heart, however, are the various charities she has been devoted to over the years. Specifically, she volunteers for WAMATA, an organization aimed at controlling the spread of AIDS in Tanzania.
In 2006, Angie will be seen opposite the rapper Sisqo in the comedy Surf School.
