Alyssa Campanella Biography 1990-

Born and raised in the Garden State, is not your typical Jersey girl, but New Jersey is where she calls home.

Living so close to Manhattan proved to be essential for Alyssa with her dream of pursuing a career in the entertainment and modeling industries. At age six, Alyssa starred in her first theater show as the narrator in the play “The Night We Were Trapped at FAO Schwarz.” It was then that the young girl caught the ‘acting bug’.  Throughout middle school and high school she starred in plays such as “The Wizard of Oz”, “Go Ask Alice”, “The Outsiders”, “Arsenic and Old Lace”, and “Welcome to Illyria.”

In October 2006, Alyssa was crowned Miss New Jersey Teen USA 2007 and represented New Jersey at Miss Teen USA 2007 in Pasadena, California, placing 1st runner up. Her title helped to open doors for her in the modeling industry.

Alyssa began modeling ate age 16 and has modeled for Sherri Hill, Scala, Serendipity Prom, Mon Cheri Bridals, Sophia Tolli, James Clifford, Rina di Montella, Nordstrom, Macy’s, and Tilly’s. She has modeled for numerous book covers for romance and thriller novels, and in the summer of 2009 she became the face of Wet N Wild Cosmetics.

Education was very important to Alyssa throughout her schooling years. While attending Freehold Township High School, she made honor roll every semester and held a 4.0 GPA. In 2004 and 2006 she received a national merit award from the United States Achievement Academy. She graduated high school a year early after receiving a scholarship to the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts in Manhattan, where she was further trained in acting for film and television.

Volunteering is also very important to Alyssa, having volunteered with organizations such as UNICEF, Ronald McDonald House, and Go Red for Women. In 2005, she organized a fundraiser within her community for UNICEF and raised over $2200 for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.  In 2007, she was named an Honorary UNICEF Ambassador. Also in 2007, she also helped women to sign a petition to the U.S. government with Go Red for Women to raise awareness for women with heart disease.

During her free time, Alyssa’s favorite pastimes include reading, exercising, traveling, and cooking/baking. She loves learning about history and science.

Alyssa is continuing to pursue a career in the entertainment industry in acting and modeling. She also hopes to host her own travel show someday in the future.

She currently lives in Los Angeles and New York.
